"I'm not happy with my team": Hansi Flick angry after Barça match

Barça's last match before the international break left its mark.

Barça failed to secure more than a draw against Rayo Vallecano this Sunday in the latest La Liga matchday. After the final whistle, Flick didn't mince his words: he believes his team could and should have done much better. Despite numerous chances, Barça failed to capitalize to take the lead. Flick highlighted the mistakes made and the ineffectiveness in front of goal, especially in the first half when the team should have scored a second goal. "Too many turnovers, too many mistakes," he explained, eager to see his players improve in these areas of the game.

Another point of frustration for Flick has been the referee and VAR. Despite some questionable decisions, he refuses to make excuses, preferring to focus on what his team can improve on the pitch. He admits he doesn't understand why the technology didn't work properly, but insists that this shouldn't mask the shortcomings on either Barcelona or Rayo's side.

During the press conference, Hansi Flick also praised the work of Rayo coach Iñigo Pérez, whose team displayed remarkable intensity, making things difficult for the Catalans. The lack of ball control was a point that clearly did not escape Flick's critical eye. Fortunately for Barça, Joan Garcia was able to protect the Catalan goal with some fine interventions, avoiding a possible defeat.

Before several of his players joined their respective national teams, Flick took advantage of the post-match period to have a frank discussion with them. He hopes everyone returns more motivated than ever...
